USA – Musician Erica LeShai has advised women who need protection from men to be ready to make sacrifices.
Erica says women should cede control
According to the musician, proper protection comes with some form of control from the men in their lives.
“A bodyguard will make their clients leave a dangerous place and has to know the details of their whereabouts all the time. The client has to listen to the bodyguard and follow instructions their protector,” she said.
“If the client does not listen to the instructions of the bodyguard then he puts the protector in a situation where they are more likely to lose their lives,” she added.
Erica listens to her brothers, father
Erica boasts four brothers and a father as the protectors in her life, and she said that she listens to their instructions even when they are not around.
“They have told me to stay away from certain places at night or when I am by myself. They have also advised me not to get high or drunk in certain places,” she said.
Even though they protect me, I, in turn, protect them by listening to their instructions; they don’t need to come to my defence in wild scenarios,” she added.
Women should value themselves
Erica also pointed out that expecting men to defend women who do not protect themselves is asinine.
“Protection comes with a little bit of sacrifice and control. Personally, I feel that the amount of control I have to give up is 100% worth it to receive the protection I have been getting,” she said.
