There’s more than one way to tap out.

MMA fighter Conor McGregor is opening a gastropub in his hometown of Crumlin, Ireland, according to Dublin Live — and he’s going big.

The 32-year-old pro mixed martial artist and boxer has reportedly sunk more than $3 million into the Black Forge pub in the south Dublin suburb that actor Gabriel Byrne and Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott have called home.

McGregor is said to be a patron at the watering hole that he spent $2.29 million to buy and another $1.2 million into renovating.

An auctioneer tied to the transaction said what McGregor paid is “slightly out of tone” with the going rate, but reflects “the property’s worth to the individual purchaser.”

That dealer also speculates the Irish sportsman’s celebrity status could help to attract more business that what the average bar owner might expect. While news of McGregor’s involvement in the pub broke last year, auctioneer Lisney/Morrissey has reportedly confirmed details of the deal. Little else has been revealed, including the menu. It seems likely Black Forge visitors will be able to order Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey, which the lightweight fighter launched in 2018.

McGregor, reportedly worth more than $139 million, is on the mend from a January beating in the ring that left him so badly battered that he will reportedly need a doctors note if he plans to fight again in the coming months. He also has his third child with fiancee Dee Devlin on the way.
