A staff of the Ondo State Agency Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (OSAA-GBV), Princess Folashade, has shared a graphic photo of the married woman, Funmilola Osundare, who was allegedly butchered by her boyfriend for ritual purposes in Akure.
Taking to Facebook, She wrote;
“VIEWER’S DISCRETION ADVICED. Below is the current state of Funmilola Ogundare who was butchered by her boyfriend at Ijapo, Akure yesterday night.”
The news got to us this morning and Her Excellency Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu speedily intervened by paying for the medical treatment of the victim of the violence.
Ondo State Agency against Gender based violence (OSAA-GBV); The Agency which was birthed after the passing of the VAAP law is responsible for all sexual and gender based violence cases in Ondo state have currently taken up the case and will see to it that justice is served.
Before last year, Ondo state was the only state in south west yet to pass the VAPP LAW we are grateful to Governor Aketi for signing the VAPP law and approving the establishment of Ondo State agency against gender based violence (OSAA-GBV).

A married woman identified as Funmilola Osundare is currently being treated at the Federal Medical center in Ondo state after she was butchered by her boyfriend, a suspected ritualist who is currently on the run.
Sources had reported that Funmilola was said to have been invited to the house her boyfriend rented in ljapo, GRA, Akure three days before the attack. She was reportedly having a nice time with him when he allegedly attacked her, leaving her with varying degrees of matchet cuts on her face, shoulders and hands.
Her cries for help attracted the neighbours who invited operatives of the state security outfit codenamed Amotekun. The suspect fled while the neighbours rushed the victim to the Police Clinic for treatment where she was rejected and referred to the University of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital, Akure.
”The victim was on oxygen in the Trauma centre Ondo and back to life, but yet to regain consciousness and strength to talk.”Joel-Ogundadegbe said
Ogundadegbe noted that no one was yet to identify the boyfriend of the victim, but that his neighbours said he is a footballer. She said that Funmilola needed to be referred to the Federal Medical Centre for a service of a neurosurgeon, due to the deep wound on her head.
