It’s called Plectrum the latest luxury yacht designed by the Italian design studio Lazzarini.
Like a hydrofoil
Plectrum is 74 meters long and is designed to be the fastest in its category thanks to a system equal to that of a hydrofoil.
Three 5,000 hp engines
Plectrum is powered by three hydrogen engines of 5,000 hp each. The maximum speed is 75 knots, or 140 km/h
Inspired by the America’s Cup
The inspiration for the design of this superyacht comes from the catamarans of theAmerica’s Cup but instead of being pushed by the wind, Plectrum moves and rises above the surface of the water before leaving.
Adjusts intelligently
The hydrofoil system of Plectrum is adjustable according to navigation. The yacht is 15 meters wide when moored or anchored and the “wings” are closed, and 20 meters while sailing at high speed.
Highly equipped
In the superyacht there are two garages, one in the center for two dinghies and another in the back for other vehicles, including cars. There is also room to land helicopters.
Equipped with every comfort
The yacht is spread over four decks and can accommodate up to 12 guests on board in six cabins, in addition to the owner’s suite on the main deck. Plectrum also has a swimming pool.
Lots of carbon fiber
The rendering of design studio explained that the entire boat was built using dry carbon fiber. Above all, Plectrum is equipped with an innovative adjustable foil system, which also incorporates sail yacht .
Exclusive Design
Plectrum finished in a striking burnt orange hue, the exterior design of the superyacht is defined by a smooth, streamlined silhouette with flat arched sides forming the side decks and garage openings.
Still a concept
Although Plectrum is still a concept, Lazzarini Design said the superyacht could be built on demand for 80 million euros. The superyacht is expected to be launched in 2025.
