Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, had to give an explanation to his members after the Lagos State Governor visited his church.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu was at the church on Sunday, March 12, and he shook hands with members after service.
Following the visit, Pastor Idowu explained to members that the visit was not planned and there was no way he could ask the governor and his entourage to leave when they were there already.
He explained that he was preaching when strange men entered the church and told him that the governor was around. He added that all he could do was welcome the governor.
The pastor said he is making the explanation because he knows many members would not welcome the Lagos State Governor if he wanted to visit their homes.
The pastor said: “I know that if the governor tells you he’s coming to your house, you’ll say he should not come, I know.”
“Yes,” members agreed in unison.
