Thugs invade Labour Party national headquarters in Abuja

Suspected political thugs have allegedly invaded the national headquarters of the Labour Party, LP in Abuja.

 

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, Julius Abure disclosed this on Thursday, April 6.

 

According to Abure, the suspected political thugs have broken into the national headquarters of the party. The LP national secretariat is located in Utako district near the federal capital territory office of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).

‘’As I speak with you now, the Labour party office is under attack. All the doors at the national headquarters have been broken and they have entered the office, purportedly trying to hold a meeting in the office. That meeting is not authorised by me or the National Working Committee. The Labour party is under serious attack because of the case we have against the APC in court. All of these blCkmail, all of these attacks is tailored todwards destroying the mandate that has been freely given to us by Nigerians. ‘’

 

This comes 24 hours after Justice Hamza Muazu of a Federal Capital Territory High Court issued an order restraining the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure; National Secretary, Farouk Ibrahim and two others from parading themselves as national officers of the party. The judge issued the restraining order while ruling in an ex-parte application filed by a James Onoja. In an application, Onoja told the court how the restrained National officers allegedly forged several documents of the FCT High Court to carry out unlawful substitutions in the last general elections.
