A man in Chivovoli village, Vihiga county is reeling in shock and despair after his wife dumped him for his neighbour because of biting poverty in their home.
Sorema’s wife abandons family
David Sorema, a casual worker who is mostly found in tea farms, had a beautiful family of a wife, three sons and a daughter before it all came tumbling down like a house of cards right before his eyes.
“My mum is now our neighbour, she abandoned us and got remarried in the next homestead. Since she went, my dad turned into a 24-hour drunkard. He can’t provide for our basic needs, we lack water, clothing, food, proper shelter,” said David’s son Nickson Vuyekha on the Phelix Makanda YouTube channel.
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Makanda said Sorema fell into addiction because of depression caused by seeing his wife daily with his neighbour.
Sorema’s sons run away
To add salt to injury, two of Sorema’s sons ran away too and their daughter when to live with her mum at the next homestead. He remained with his last born, Nickson.
Nickson no longer goes to school and has resorted to selling scrap metal at their shopping centre. At the time of the interview, the lad had only made KSh 40.
Nickson’s aunt said Sorema is very irresponsible. She disclosed that they tried to sit him down regarding his situation but all he said was that life was too hard.
According to Makanda’s assessment, the boy really needs help as he risks becoming a street boy. You can help Nickson through 0713481436 (Phelix Joel ).
Kids wash their dad
Sorema is not the only one who has suffered such heartbreak as in April 2023, Munyeshyaka Jean-Paul shared that his wife took off after they were evicted from their house by the landlord.
The single dad of two with a disability was born normal, strong and walking on his feet until he couldn’t walk at age seven.
“The disability started as an illness that should have been easily treated. They did not administer my treatment on time. I lost my parents and was left under my sisters’ responsibility, who only saw me as a burden,” Munyeshyaka Jean-Paul told Afrimax English.
