Why are good women single?

@Njambifever wondered why good girls in their late 20s who have their own jobs, make their own money, and are not dramatic still find it hard to get men.

In her words:

“Ushai ona msichana with good qualities hadi unashangaa (Have you seen a good girl with good qualities until you wonder). She is smart, has her own, is very calm, goes to work, back home, is clean. Sherehe ni polite tu, always with the girls l, well mannered but have no serious relationships. She is in her late 20s, yet single kabisa. Anyway, relationships are not a must.”

Kenyans reactions

Some Kenyans, particularly men, pointed out that such women have hidden characters that make men repel them.

Here are some of the comments from social media users:

“She must be from central ama ako na toxicity fulani or she gets sick every time in the relationship so no man wants to date her.”

@dennil_brown said:

“Hao ogopa, wako na watu chini ya maji na hutawahi jua.”

@PierreKundi said:

“They don’t exist.”

@Muthoni_____ said:

“Maybe they got hurt and have never healed, maybe they are asexual & have no desire for it etc.”

@minegalpenny said:

“Something must be wrong because women like that never even get past 25 before they are married. With this one lazima kuna tashwishi mahali.”

@WakeshoMakio said:

“Probably they have been so hurt . If they are this organised, trust me they were once in a ‘perfect relationship ‘ according to them until boy child akafanya Ile kitu.”

@Timo_Utd said:

“Perhaps she’s just not interested in relationships. Usi overthink.”

@I_AM_karanja said:

“The hidden qualities ndio why she’s so single.”

Man talks about single men avoiding single mums

Elsewhere, a Kenyan man recently sparked a heated debate after claiming that men with options hardly choose single mothers.

According to him, single mums prioritise their kids, which makes it hard for men to get attention from them.

“The truth is there is no man who has options who will go for a single mother. And the reason for that is because it is a monumentally, imbalanced relationship. Understand something, if you are a single mum, what is your first priority?” he said.
