Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke also known Davido has been invited by the Georgia state Assembly in the United States for special recognition.
He announced this through Twitter on Friday evening of December 1 after attending the Georgia General Assembly meeting where he was recognised as an Outstanding Citizen.
Davido, who has a day designated in his honour in the U.S. state, shared a video and photo of his letter of recognition signed by the Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger.
He wrote; “This morning I attended the U.S state of Georgia General assembly meeting with the Georgia House of Representatives and Georgia state senate to be recognized as an ‘Outstanding Georgia Citizen’ … God is good. 🇺🇸🌎🇳🇬”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian-American singer was recently acknowledged by the Mayor of Atlanta, Andre Dickens, for his contribution towards entertainment in the city of Atlanta.
The Mayor and the Atlanta City Council declared November 18 “Davido Day” in honour of the singer.
In a message to the singer on his birthday, November 21, 2023, Dickens said Davido has “captivated audiences worldwide, becoming a global icon in the music industry. On behalf of the City of Atlanta, thank you for your tireless efforts as a renowned singer, songwriter, producer, business leader, philanthropist, and community advocate.”
He added; “Throughout your remarkable career, you’ve amassed an incredible number of accolades and continue to use your platform to give back to communities in the United States and throughout Africa.”
Also, the Atlanta City Council in a statement said, “Be it resolved that we, the members of the Atlanta City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Atlanta, do hereby proclaim November 18, 2023, as Davido Day in the City of Atlanta.”
