Overview
Acancer that begins in the bile duct, a duct which carries bile and digestive fluid through liver. This causes jaundice, fever, abdominal pain, sudden weight loss, and itchy skin.

Causes
– It is caused due to mutations in DNA of the cells of bile ducts. Risk factors include:
- Chronic problems in the bile duct
- Age majority of bile duct cancer occurs in middle aged patients, 65 years and older
- Obesity
- Family history
- Excessive alcohol intake causing liver cirrhosis
- Smoking
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Chronic inflammation of the bile duct
- Liver or bile duct diseases Hepatitis B or C
- Parasitic infection
