Former senator representing Edo south, Matthew Urhoghide has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has now joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at an event in Benin city, capital of Edo state, Urhoghide stated that he is a foundation member of the APC and has now returned to help build the party in the southern state.
Urhoghide who before his defection had been accused of working for Monday Okpebholo, governorship candidate of the APC in Edo, in the forthcoming election, also pledged to support the party in the election.
Receiving Urhoghide, Adams Oshiomhole, a former Governor of the state and senator representing Edo north described the former senator as a “resourceful politician” whose experience will boost the party’s chances in the election.
