Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has donated 25 buses to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign team in Benue State.
Governor of the state of Benué samuel ortomwho revealed it on Tuesday in Makurdi during the opening of the party’s campaign council, said each of the 23 local governments would get a bus.
“Wike also promised to be in Makurdi for the inauguration of the campaigns scheduled for Monday,” he said.
He thanked Mr. Wike for always being with the people of Benue in both good and bad times.
He said that if the party’s presidential candidate tackles the challenges rocking the party, all PDP members would work together to bail out Nigeria, stating that he had no problem with any party candidate.
He encouraged the party’s national leadership to listen to the voice of reason and address the burning issues raised by five governors.
The Governors are Messrs. Wike, Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu from Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from Enugu State and Seyi Makinde from Oyo State.
They are asking the national president of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, to resign as the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is from the north like Mr. Ayu.
“All my colleagues and I want is for the whole house committee to address issues holistically.
“If the issues raised by the five governors are not resolved, I cannot guarantee what will happen during the presidential election,” he said.
Meanwhile, the party’s interim president in the state, Isaac Mffo, assured those present that the PDP would win the 2023 elections, noting that the party had no opposition in Benue.
State Campaign Council director general Cletus Tyokyaa, speaking on behalf of the members, said everything would be done to promote the candidates to victory.

“Now that we have been inaugurated, we will set things in motion to achieve great results,” said Mr. Tyokyaa.
State Leader Ewaje Egwa thanked Mr. Ortom for giving many appointments to women and supporting his political ambitions.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that Ediga Akpa is the secretary of the council, while Bemgba Iortyom is the director of media and publicity.
