The international passport of former Rivers state Governor Peter Odili which was seized by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has been released.
Addressing a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday February 7, NIS’ lawyer Jimoh Adamu said Odili’s daughter, Njideka Nwosu-Iheme, a serving judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), collected the passport for her father on December 20, 2020 at the Immigration headquarters in Abuja.
Adamu further exhibited a letter of request by Odili and other evidence in the motion he filed on Monday February 5, showing that he has received the passport.
Justice Inyang Ekwo who noted that there was no fresh motion before the court prior to the new case on Monday, stood down proceedings briefly to enable Adamu get the motion from the court’s registry which he applied orally for.
