Kano-based politician, Salisu Tanko-Yakassai, has berated President Buhari for allegedly allowing his appointees ignore the directives given to them without any consequences.
Salisu stated this on Twitter after the two-week directive President Buhari gave the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, to ensure the ASUU strike is called off, terminated before Tuesday, August 2.
The strike action by the lecturers still lingers. On Monday, August 1, the lecturers extended the strike by four weeks.
Reacting to this development, Salisu tweeted
”I’ve never seen a weak president like @MBuhari. He gives directives to his appointees & they ignore it without consequences. He gave 2 weeks ultimatum for ASUU strike to be resolved, nobody took him seriously & the time has elapsed. Shamefully embarrassing to say the least!”
