Mary Lungu, the married woman from Lusaka, Zambia, who caused a stir by attempting to marry another man, has not reconciled with her husband.

Prior to leaving her home in Foxdale area on April 15, the woman lied to her hubby that she was going to Nakonde District for business.

Her husband, therefore, surprised her, when he walked into the Lusaka Civic Center and caused drama in front of bemused onlookers.

Wife slept at friend’s house

According to ZNBC Today, Josephat Mumba revealed that his wife did not return to their home the previous night and instead spent the night at her friend’s house.

Apparently, the friend who hosted her was a witness at the failed wedding.

In the wake of the news, the Lusaka City Council has issued a warning to the public against using false witnesses for their weddings.

Chola Mwamba, the council’s public relations manager, stated that the botched wedding revealed the presence of fake witnesses among those invited.

Wife blamed hubby of not taking care of her

Mumba caught Lungu during the signing ceremony at Lusaka Civic Center and caused drama in front of curious onlookers.

The besieged woman told the Council Marriage Registrar that she decided to leave her husband of 20 years because he did not take good care of her.

Lungu and her new lover were supposed to receive their marriage certificate under the Marriage Act but the local authority declared their application null and void after the husband objected to the matter.

“The local authority would also like to advise all those seeking to be married under the Marriage Act to make the application with genuine intentions,” Public Relations Manager, Chila Mwamba said.
