Mason Greenwood suffers Man United backlash over allegations of rape and assault as angry fans demand refunds for his No 11 shirt

Manchester United star, Mason Greenwood has suffered more backlash after his arrest over allegations of rape and assault as fans are now returning replica shirts and demanding refunds after the club withdraw his merchandise.

Team-mates including Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, Paul Pogba, and Marcus Rashford appear to have unfollowed the 20-year-old on social media while Nike suspended his sponsorship deal.

Mason Greenwood was arrested on Sunday January 30, after allegations of rape and assault of his girlfriend and will remain in police custody as he’s still being questioned.

United’s shirt sponsors TeamViewer said they are ‘closely monitoring developments’ and official partner Cadbury announced Greenwood will not feature on any of their marketing products.

According to Sportmail, his name has been removed from the list of players on the club’s online shop, with any search for Greenwood drawing a blank. And a number of fans turned up at the megastore demanding a refund for replica Greenwood No 11 shirts that they no longer want.
