The new McLaren supercar
British carmaker McLaren has unveiled its latest creation, the 750S, which replaces the previous 720S as the brand’s flagship supercar. The car represents a generational shift, with some major changes that do not, however, cast doubt on its identity.
Design and aerodynamics of the 750S by McLaren
Despite being very similar to the 720S, the new McLaren 750S has a number of new features, starting with narrower air intakes and a wider front splitter. The side and rear end have also been redesigned, with 20% more hydraulically operated wing and carbon fibre reducing the car’s weight by 30kg.
Interior and functionality of the new McLaren
Inside the 750S is a host of cutting-edge technology, starting with the two displays for different driving configurations. In addition, the McLaren Control Launcher allows you to store your favourite settings, while there is also the Apple CarPlay system, Central Information Screen and an upgrade to Rear View and Surround View cameras. The interior can be personalised with the TechLux and Performance packages.
Agility, performance and braking system
The semi-active suspension system, hydraulic roll circuit and new suspension geometry have improved agility and feel behind the wheel. The McLaren 750S also adopts a new braking system, derived from the McLaren Senna, and the standard tyres are Pirelli PZeros, but PZero Corsa or Trofeo R tyres are also available for track performance.
The powerful 750hp twin-turbocharged V8.
The real star of this McLaren 750S is its non-electrified 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine, capable of 750 hp and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The reduced weight and sub-15-second flying time should give the McLaren 750S an advantage over its predecessor. The car will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, while the top speed will be 332 km/h, guaranteeing a thrilling and engaging driving experience.
Briefly
The McLaren 750S represents a generational shift in McLaren’s flagship supercar, with a similar design to the previous 720S, but with important changes to its aerodynamics. The car is 30 kg lighter than its predecessor and adopts advanced technologies to enhance performance and the driving experience. With a 750hp V8 engine, it guarantees maximum driving fun both on the track and on the road.
