Jimmy Odukoya, Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, shared that God instructed him never to cut his dreadlocks.

In a recent sermon, Jimmy explained that before resuming his pastoral duties, he sought divine guidance regarding his appearance. God clearly told him not to cut his hair. To confirm this, he asked his sister, Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun, to pray about it, and she received the same instruction, which affirmed Jimmy’s experience.

Jimmy recounted, “Before I returned, one of the things I asked the Lord was whether I should cut my hair. God told me not to, so I asked my sister to pray, and she came back with the same message. I told her, ‘I already know, because God had already spoken to me.’”

He also shared a remarkable story about a woman who traveled all the way from Zimbabwe just to attend his church. She told Jimmy that in 2016, while in New York for Thanksgiving, she had a vision in which she saw him with long hair, speaking to her and delivering a powerful message. In the vision, a dog symbolizing her burdens was burnt to ashes by the sword he was holding, while he declared freedom over her life.

The woman described how she went through a tough period afterward, including a painful divorce and the death of her mother. Seeking solace, she turned to YouTube and came across Jimmy’s sermon. To her amazement, he looked exactly as he had in the vision, with long hair. She had never known Jimmy before and was astonished that he had dreadlocks, as she never imagined a pastor would have long hair.

She explained, “In 2016, I didn’t know you existed. If you had cut your hair, I wouldn’t have recognized you, and the vision would have meant nothing. God had a plan. He made sure you kept your hair to save a life.”

Jimmy concluded, emphasizing that God’s guidance in keeping his hair had a purpose, one that would ultimately help this woman in her life journey.
