Kidnappers have released Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Mararaba Aboro, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following the payment of a ransom.

It was reported that the kidnappers detained the church’s financial secretary, Danjuma, who had delivered the ransom on their behalf.

Sources revealed that Pastor Ali, 30, was abducted from his home in the early hours of April 8, 2025, just two weeks after his assignment to the church.

Initially, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N100 million. A source told Daily Trust that the elderly church official, who went to deliver an undisclosed ransom amount to secure the pastor’s release, was instead held by the kidnappers.

“The pastor was released, but the kidnappers chose to detain the man who brought the ransom. We don’t know why, and the community is in shock,” the source said.

In the meantime, Pastor Ali confirmed his release and the abduction of the church secretary in a Facebook post, expressing prayers for his safety and deliverance from captivity.
