Residents of Ilkirevi village in Arusha, Tanzania, are in mourning after one of their neighbors, popular Bongo Flava singer Herick Adam Lensiro aka Nezo B, was killed in cold blood.
The deceased was allegedly stabbed by a lady named Blandina Fredrick, a resident of the Ilkirevi, who is now being held by the police.
Escalated from simple disagreement
Details indicate that the incident which occurred at around 1.30pm was caused by a disagreement over an electricity bill.
Eyewitnesses claim that the verbal altercation escalated into a physical confrontation before the suspect allegedly sunk a sharp knife into Nezo B’s body.
“The artiste and the suspect live in the same plot and take turns topping up the electricity tokens, so he failed to top up when it was his turn, leading to a disagreement,” an eyewitness said.
The incident has left fans and fellow artists devastated and sparked widespread discussion regarding the woman’s actions.
Fans devastated by artiste’s demise
Many could not wrap their minds around the fact that the fast-rising star has paid for a simple electricity bill with his life.
As news of his tragic death spread online, social media platforms were flooded with an outpouring of grief and disbelief from fans, fellow artists, and industry professionals.
