The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says it will not end the continuous voter registration on June 30.
During a mega-concert organized by the commission in Abuja on Saturday, June 25, the chairman of the commission, Mahmoud Yakubu, told newsmen that the commission has deployed more machines for voters registration and that INEC will not stop the exercise until it is satisfied that Nigerians who want to register have done so.
Speaking to the youths who attended the concert, Mahmoud said
”I want to assure you that the PVCs will be ready for collection latest October this year. I want to thank you for making the PVC the most popular ID card today. Ekiti was good, Osun is going to be better. 2023 will be the best. Your votes will count.
The energy is palpable. The determination of the young people is obvious. The commission promised to stop the registration on the 30th of June. With what we are seeing nationwide, I assure the young people and all Nigerians that the registration will not end on the 30th of June. We will extend it”
