Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly willing to ‘considerably’ reduce his wage demands to secure a Manchester United exit this summer.

The former Real Madrid forward reportedly asked the Red Devils to let him leave this summer if they receive a suitable offer.

United have no intention of letting the player leave, however, with a year remaining on his contract.

There is a huge question mark regarding Ronaldo’s future with no offers currently on the table.

His weekly wage at Old Trafford is believed to be over £500,000 and potentially as high as £700k, which will make an exit particularly difficult.

Chelsea, Napoli and Bayern Munich are all believed to be interested in signing the 37-year-old, though United will be especially reluctant to let him join a direct rival in England.

According to the IndependentRonaldo is ‘ready to take a considerable pay cut’ in order to force a move to a ‘Champions League challenger’.

The Portugal captain’s preferred destinations are believed to be Chelsea, Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ronaldo’s ‘primary motivation’ for wanting to leave is to win the Champions League – or at least a major domestic title – again before hanging up his boots.

After initial efforts to sound out potential suitors fell flat on its face, the Portuguese will ‘significantly’ lower his demands to leave United.
