Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly willing to ‘considerably’ reduce his wage demands to secure a Manchester United exit this summer.
Ronaldo told to ‘pack his bags’ by Man United, while Ten Hag only needs one outfit
United have no intention of letting the player leave, however, with a year remaining on his contract.
There is a huge question mark regarding Ronaldo’s future with no offers currently on the table.
His weekly wage at Old Trafford is believed to be over £500,000 and potentially as high as £700k, which will make an exit particularly difficult.
Chelsea, Napoli and Bayern Munich are all believed to be interested in signing the 37-year-old, though United will be especially reluctant to let him join a direct rival in England.
According to the Independent, Ronaldo is ‘ready to take a considerable pay cut’ in order to force a move to a ‘Champions League challenger’.
The Portugal captain’s preferred destinations are believed to be Chelsea, Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo’s ‘primary motivation’ for wanting to leave is to win the Champions League – or at least a major domestic title – again before hanging up his boots.
After initial efforts to sound out potential suitors fell flat on its face, the Portuguese will ‘significantly’ lower his demands to leave United.
Whilst the manager won’t admit it publicly, I don’t think he’s going to mind too much if Ronaldo leaves the club.
Great player but #ManUtd need to support Ten Hag with the players he wants, let him build his own team and get that spirit and togetherness back in the dressing room. pic.twitter.com/jXEn3nfoNe

Ronaldo ‘does not want to go to rivals’, meaning a move to Chelsea could be ruled out.
He missed pre-season training on Monday due to ‘family reasons’ so is yet to meet Erik ten Hag since he was appointed manager following Ralf Rangnick’s interim stint in charge.
A move to Bayern heavily depends on the future of Robert Lewandowski, who has asked to leave the club amidst interest from Barcelona.
