Natasha Osawaru, the partner of singer 2Face Idibia, has been ousted as the Minority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Osawaru, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), represented the Egor constituency.

Her removal follows a shift in the balance of power after four PDP lawmakers defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), granting the APC majority control.

In addition to Osawaru, Charity Aiguobarueghian, the former Majority Leader, and Yekini Idaiye, the former Chief Whip, were also removed from their positions.

Meanwhile, Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko, both from the PDP, retained their positions as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.

This change followed a letter from Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the APC in Edo State, formally informing the Assembly of the new majority status.
