Three policemen and one suspect were killed in a fatal road accident in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The crash occurred on Friday, December 20, 2024, along the Benin-Ore-Ijebu Ode Expressway.
It was gathered that the deceased officers were part of the monitoring units of the state police command that left Akure to arrest the suspect when the incident occurred.
According to a source, the crash happened when a truck lost control while descending the ore bridge and rammed into the police vehicle, k!lling the victims inside their vehicle.
“The deceased policemen and a female suspect d!ed on the spot while the other police officer who was seriously injured had been rushed to an undisclosed hospital. They left Akure to arrest the suspect in the Ore area,” the source said.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident.
“The incident happened, that is what I can say for now,” the PPRO stated
