Wasserman Music has been unveiled after Paradigm Talent Agency sold its North American live music representation business to Casey Wasserman’s lifestyle marketing and management firm.
Wasserman’s new business unit will represent music artists and their development at the intersection of sports, entertainment, lifestyle marketing, culture and music. Wasserman Music’s artist roster includes Ed Sheeran, Kenny Chesney, Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Skrillex, The Lumineers, Lorde, Sturgill Simpson, Black Pumas, Jack Harlow and ODESZA.
“I have worked side-by-side with this remarkable group of people to build a blueprint for success and I am continually impressed with their tenacity and care for both their clients and the business. But most important is our shared commitment to cultivating a culture of forward progress so this new business appropriately reflects the artists and fans we serve,” Casey Wasserman, chairman and CEO of Wasserman, said in a statement.
As Casey Wasserman leads the new business unit, Marty Diamond, Jonathan Levine, Jackie Nalpant, Sam Hunt, Corrie Martin, Lee Anderson and Matt Rodriguez will oversee the business and its around 130 employees on a day-to-day basis. The goal is to expand Wasserman Music as the live entertainment business rebounds in 2021 and 2022.
Wasserman Music has also partnered with the national advocacy organization Color Of Change to ensure diversity within its ranks. Wasserman, founded in 2002, has a large footprint in the sports representation space across basketball, baseball, hockey, the NFL and Olympic athletes.
Last year, the management firm also acquired hockey-focused agency Acme World Sports as well as Lithuanian basketball agency BBaltics. (Casey Wasserman also serves as the chair for LA28, which helped organize Los Angeles’ bid for the 2028 Olympics.)
Since 2016, when the company rebranded from Wasserman Media Group to Wasserman, the firm has expanded further into culture, media and entertainment, adding creative and marketing agencies like Laundry Service and Boris Agency, and launching a social audience data platform called Unlock.
