The desired capillary blood glucose values may vary according to the patient’s dietary status and even according to the patient’s age. Blood glucose level should be kept under control because, high sugar level for a prolonged period may cause diabetes complications. Random blood sugar can be taken anytime. Tt will be good if the blood sugar level is below 200 milligrams per deciliter or below 11.1mmol/l.

An optimal value for maintaining fasting blood glucose is below 100mg/dl. Fasting glucose between 100 and 125 mg/dL is called prediabetes. Over 126 mg/dL, we already have a diagnosis of diabetes.
