Why do men have this compulsive urge to show off in front of women, or a group, even at serious risk to their own lives??? Can anybody enlighten me, please.

This was the topic of discussion at the oceanfront.

Just recently , a man was out on a boat enjoying with friends and family around West Beach near Caney Creek, when his wife’s sunglasses fell into the lake. What did he do? he jumped into the water to try and retrieve the sunglasses that had fallen into the water and he never resurfaced.
OHP Lake Patrol later used side scan sonar to locate him and a Dive team recovered his body 17 feet underwater.
Why would anybody take a risk because of a common pair of sunglasses if not to act the hero or Superman role? What’s wrong with simply buying her another pair of sunglasses?
Apparently, this type of incident has happened several times in the past.
There was even talk of a Florida man who dived into the ocean to retrieve a ring that went overboard as he was proposing to his girlfriend.
He wasted no time diving in after it and came out of the water shortly after, victoriously holding up the box with his girlfriend, 32, laughing in awe. She was clearly impressed. I wonder if this would have been the case if he had drowned in that ocean. Within months, I’m sure she might well be celebrating another engagement to a luckier man.
Maybe it is an oyibo thing.
Should any of my brothers try this type of rubbish just to impress any girl no matter how beautiful , I will surely fling them before our umunna  who will fling them before the local deity before taking them for spiritual deliverance…..
