In a bold move aimed at curbing land title irregularities and promoting transparency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Governor Nyesom Wike has established several task forces to review and validate land titles in Abuja. This initiative comes in response to mounting concerns over the proliferation of fraudulent land transactions and the illegal allocation of government land in the city.

The task forces, which will be comprised of legal experts, land administrators, and other relevant stakeholders, are tasked with conducting a comprehensive audit of all land titles in Abuja. Their primary goal is to ensure that land allocations are legitimate and in compliance with existing laws and regulations. This review will include verifying the authenticity of titles, investigating potential fraud, and ensuring that all land receipts and titles are vetted.
