Women suffer more from jet lag than men

A study at the University of Surrey in England found that women suffer more from jet lag than men.

Sixteen men and 18 women were locked in a sleep laboratory. In the confined space, one day lasted 28 hours. The results were surprising. Memory, motor skills and concentration ability in women deteriorated harder than in men. The women also had worse moods and showed significantly more signs of fatigue.

It had long been known that jetlags and night posts can have a negative impact on your sleep, food burn and blood pressure. According to the researchers, however, it is new that women appear to be more affected than men. More research is obviously required to further substantiate these findings
